SMDS Solutions

Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy describes how SMDS Solutions handles personal data in connection with the website www.smds.be. It does not cover our mobile apps — each app has its own dedicated privacy policy, linked from its entry on the Apps page, since it is that app, not this website, that is responsible for what happens to your data on your device.

1. Who is responsible (the controller)

The controller for this website is:

SMDS Solutions — a subsidiary of 10000 Suns bv
Registered office at Sanderusstraat 9, 2018 Antwerpen, Belgium

Enterprise number: BE 0788.948.312
VAT Identification Number: BE 0788.948.312

2. Server logs, cookies and website traffic

This website is static — it does not use analytics scripts or advertising trackers of any kind. It sets a single cookie, and only when you choose a language yourself: smds-lang, which remembers that choice (en, nl, fr or de) for up to one year so the website opens in your language on your next visit. It contains no personal data, is not used for tracking, and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

Our hosting provider, Infomaniak (see our Legal notice), may automatically record standard web-server logs for every visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time of the request. These logs are used only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website — for example, to detect abuse or diagnose errors — are not used to build a profile of you, and are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and functioning correctly.

3. Links to the App Store and Google Play

Our Apps page links out to the Apple App Store and Google Play so you can find and download our apps. Once you follow one of those links, you leave this website, and Apple's or Google's own privacy policy governs whatever they collect on their platform — we have no access to, and no control over, that processing. We encourage you to review their respective privacy frameworks before proceeding.

4. Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port any personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. Since this website does not collect personal data beyond the technical server logs described above, there is little for us to act on directly — but if you have any question or request, contact us at the address above and we will respond.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Belgium, this is the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données (APD/GBA), www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the "Effective date" above.
